Be vigilant, prepared, and encouraging other believers...

We have been focused a lot on the details of prayer, and now this week we are finally going to be seeking an answer to the big question of how to pray. This week we are finishing our framework on how to pray so you can begin to pray in confidence that God will hear you.

We find in Acts 4 a model of prioritizing prayer, and a prayer that shakes things up.

 

"After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness" Acts 4:31 NLT

We have been focused a lot on the details of prayer, and now this week we are finally going to be seeking an answer to the big question of how to pray. Over the next weeks we will be setting up a framework from which you can begin to pray in confidence that God will hear you.

The Spirit moving in the apostles spread the teaching that couldn't be stopped.

 

"And every day, in the Temple and from house to house, they continued to teach and preach this message: 'Jesus is the Messiah.'" Acts 5:42 NLT

 

The story of the lame man outside the gate of the temple points to the One who IS the Gate.

"So God’s message continued to spread. The number of believers greatly increased in Jerusalem, and many of the Jewish priests were converted, too." Acts 6:7 NLT

This is our last week digging deep into the meaning of a prayer written for pastors, and we talk about some answered prayers that we have experienced.

Today we study the early Christ followers immediately after they had been visited by and filled with the Holy Spirit. We examine what they were devoted to in their time, relationships, and resources, that caused their growth.

Acts 2:43-47

Continuing through our prayer for pastors we take a slight detour through the idea of lament, another type of prayer that many of us aren't familiar with.
